'Chipping in Bloom' began in 2008 and its main objective is to create lasting improvements to the village, for the benefit of residents, workers and visitors, now and for future generations.

Whilst a small action group co-ordinates the campaign, the success to date, is very much attributed to the community spirit and goodwill which is given by the people of Chipping.

Chipping entered the North West in Bloom competition for the very first time in 2008 and won Best Village and Best Newcomer categories.

at Britian in Bloom Awards 2009
The 2009 Britain in Bloom Awards were presented this year at a special awards ceremony in Torquay. Chipping won a Gold Award and were named overall Village Category winners. Chipping was also awarded a discretionary award for tourism.
