Reading at KS1 The children at St Pauls follow the phonics programme
Letters and sounds. They start at phase 1 in Nursery and progress to phase 6 by
the end of KS1. Children who go into KS2 with gaps in their phonic knowledge
will continue to follow the programme.
All reading books are banded, we primarily use Oxford
Reading Tree but this is supplemented by a range of books from other published
schemes i.e. Alpha kids, Project X,
Heinemann, and Sunshine.
